LEGAL PRACTICE

Akshay joined Chambers upon being called to the Bar in January 2019. He has since been assisting senior members of Chambers in civil and criminal matters at the level of the District and Intermediate Courts. He also regularly assists in legal research, drafting, advisory and transactional work. 

OTHER

Akshay read law at Taylor's University, Malaysia and Cardiff University. During his studies, he was awarded the 2014 Zaid Ibrahim & Co High Achiever's Award for Best Overall Performance, and as a result, interned at ZICO Law in Kuala Lumpur, where he dealt mainly with corporate work. Akshay was also a recipient of the Taylor's Law Merit Scholarship and the AHSS International Dean Scholarship by Cardiff University. He marshaled His Honour Judge Patrick Curran QC at the Cardiff Crown Court and was involved in the cross-examination of trainee police officers in Cardiff.  

Akshay is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn and is currently enrolled for the 'Diplôme Universitaire en Droit Civil Mauricien' offered by the Unversité de la Réunion in conjunction with the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies of Mauritius.
