Sandiva joined 5 St James Court upon being called to the Mauritian Bar in January 2024, after having completed his pupillage at Chambers, under the supervision of Me. Ravindra Chetty, SC. Since joining Chambers, he has been assisting in cases before the District Court, the Intermediate/Industrial Court, the Honourable Judge in Chambers, and the Supreme Court.

Sandiva has initially graduated in Medicine and Psychology before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and the Bar Training Course (BTC).

He practices across a whole range of areas of law in line with Chambers’ profile and is consequently developing a diverse legal practice that covers both litigation and transactional matters and advice.
Sandiva is also involved in a diversified array of business ventures for which he handles market risk analysis, tax and banking matters, intellectual property rights, land and real estate development, among others.

Sandiva’s experience includes:

• Analysing internal operations to identify areas requiring process enhancement;
• Implementing business strategies and plans aligned with the short- and long-term objectives of the Group;
• Building trusting relationships with stakeholders;
• Preparing updates and forecasts to budget investment capital for near term growth targets;
• Setup of comprehensive goals for performance and growth;
• Overseeing daily operations of the Group and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.);
• Identifying and structuring expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.);
• Risk assessments; and,
• Implementing and ensuring compliance with all concerned legislatures, among others.
