Yakshini joined 5 St James Court upon being called to the Mauritian Bar in September 2018.
Yakshini practices across a whole range of areas of law in line with Chambers' profile. She has, since joining Chambers appeared before the Assessment Review Committee, the Environment and Land Use Appeal Tribunal, Public Bodies Appeal Tribunal and the Equal Opportunities Commission. Yakshini has also appeared as junior counsel led by Mr. Ravindra Chetty SC in several Supreme Court cases. Yakshini accepts instructions as sole counsel for District Court and Intermediate Court matters.
Yakshini has developed a special interest in Tax Law. Prior to joining Chambers, she has assisted James Kessler QC, the head of 15 Old Square Chambers (Tax Chambers) in London in various tax law research and was the copy editor of three books: 'Taxation of Foreign Domiciliaries'; 'Taxation of Charities and non-profit Organisations' and 'Drafting Trusts and Will Trusts'.
Yakshini is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and a member of the Chartered Insitute of Taxation.
